Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014: Dumas, Norma, Honda and LeCont always in pole

27/06/2014

Days go by but the music is always the same. Romain Dumas with his Norma M20 RD - Honda fitted with LeCont tyres is always in provisional pole position of the 92nd edition of the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014.

Norma

After posting the best performance in sector 1 on Wednesday, Romain was today (Thursday) engaged in sector 2 (tomorrow, Friday, he will test in sector 3) while his most fearsome rivals, the modified electric cars, were also engaged in the sector. 1, the only one that will be taken into account by the organizers to establish the qualification hierarchy for the race. While Dumas again posted the best performance also in the second sector, the "modified electrics" did not manage to get that much closer to the performance set by the Frenchman on Wednesday. Dumas had, in fact, covered the 8 km of the first sector in 3'37"525 while on Thursday Greg Tracy did not drop below 3'48"208. Tracy is, with the Japanese Hiroshi Masuoka (3'51"445) one of the two official drivers of Mitshubishi, which officially lines up two electric prototypes modified by stellar power (about 1500 hp).
